This one day Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace course provides an excellent introduction to workplace health and safety. It supports employers in meeting statutory legal requirements, helps create safer working environments, reduces the risk of injury and can lead to potential cost savings for businesses.

Learners will develop an understanding of key health and safety principles and gain the knowledge required to identify risks, prevent accidents, and respond appropriately to workplace incidents.

• Paediatric basic life support
• Role of the Paediatric First Aider
• Seizure
• Diabetic emergencies
• Primary survey
• Choking
• Asthma
• Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED)
• Minor injuries
• Meningitis
• Wounds, bleeding and shock
• Recovery position
• Febrile convulsions
• Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis
• Fractures
• Extreme cold and heat
• Head, neck and back injuries
• Foreign bodies
• Electrical incidents
• Managing injuries and illnesses
5 | How the Course Is Delivered
A one-day classroom-based course, with additional pre-course or post-course reading where required depending on learner experience.
6 | Assessment & Certification
Ongoing assessment by the instructor, culminating in a multiple-choice question paper. Successful learners will be awarded a national Level 2 qualification. The qualification does not expire; refresher training and keeping up to date with policies and procedures is strongly recommended.
