L3 Award in Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults (1 Day)
Accredited Level 3 course designed to help learners recognise, respond to and report safeguarding concerns, supporting organisations in meeting UK safeguarding legislation and protecting vulnerable individuals.
1 | Course Overview
This Level 3 Safeguarding Principles course provides in-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation, guidance, and best practice. It focuses on protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including harm caused by individuals in positions of trust.
2 | Who This Course Is For
This course is designed for anyone working with, or supporting, children, young people, or vulnerable adults across any sector. It is suitable for practitioners, volunteers, and professionals who require a strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
3 | What You'll Learn
Learners will gain the knowledge and confidence to identify vulnerable individuals, recognise signs of abuse or neglect, and take appropriate action to safeguard others while also protecting themselves in their professional role.
4 | Course Content
A range of subjects are covered including:
• Safeguarding legislation and guidance
• Indicators of abuse or neglect
• Making judgements
• Communication
• Roles and responsibilities
• Sharing information
• Dealing with and reporting allegations and complaints
• Safeguarding yourself when raising concerns
5 | How the Course Is Delivered
Face-to-face classroom delivery with a minimum of 7 contact hours. Maximum of 12 learners per course to ensure quality learning and engagement.
6 | Assessment & Certification
Assessment is completed in line with qualification requirements. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded an Ofqual-regulated qualification.
Learners must be 18 years or over at course commencement.
